Overview
For these album and logo designs, I was focused on visually portraying my client’s personality in these projects. This project includes a record label logo based on the client’s brand and identity. For the album covers, I aimed to include my client’s interest in arcade games and connect the same concept to the logo design. I uncovered how to create a simplified but effective logo to unify with my client’s brand identity.
Client Information
My client requested to include his interest in arcade games and vintage technology in his brand identity and aesthetic. Bright colors to match the arcade theme were something to consider for the final designs.

Logo Sketches

First Player
For this first logo design, I based it on the idea of scoring in an arcade game. I included the words “music label” with the same typeface as the logo above it. The logo is of a pinball, replacing the “o” in “score” with the ball. The word “score” and the logo of a shiny pinball are all part of the brand logo identity relating to arcades.

Second Player
For this logo concept, I experimented with the idea of an arcade game joystick. I added breaks to the logo and transparent shine to the handle to make the logo more unique. I wanted to add a geometric approach, with the line breaks, and use simple shapes.

Winner!
For the chosen logo, I was inspired by the pinball arcade game. I wanted to create an amusing record label based on the metal pinball and the flippers on the sides.

Level Up!
A collection of stylescapes, sketches, composition ideas, and initial cover designs brought me to my final design.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I have learned to improve my skills in working with a client and communicating with them to create a project based on them. As a designer, I have improved my skills working with the Adobe programs Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. All in all, learning how to start to design an album, create a logo based on a client’s identity, and create a sense of unity throughout this project with a concept in mind was interesting to learn how to do.
